CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic are currently fighting for their job at FC Bayern – but apparently they have not joined forces for a long time.
At the supervisory board meeting on May 30, FC Bayern’s turbulent season will be examined closely. Central to this: The Munich bosses decide on the future of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic.
Both have to justify themselves to the board for a season in which the intended goals were clearly missed. If the championship even went to BVB in the end, the sporting catastrophe would be perfect.
According to the specialist magazine “kicker”, both Kahn and Salihamidzic are currently fighting for their jobs behind the scenes. However, everyone is now only fighting for themselves – after all, everyone has to be responsible for their own area of responsibility. While the CEO Kahn is responsible for the basic orientation of the German record champions, sports director Salihamidzic decides on sporting issues – and thus on personnel decisions in the player and coach area.
Untitled season for FC Bayern “not the worst”?
According to the “kicker”, there are even rumors internally at FC Bayern that a completely untitled season would be “not the worst” for the club. Then the “beautiful talk” that has recently been established must come to an end. It is not unthinkable that Kahn and/or Salihamidzic would have to vacate their posts in this case.
FC Bayern goes into the last two games of the season with a one-point lead over Borussia Dortmund. If Bayern Munich win their home game against RB Leipzig on Saturday (6:30 p.m.) and BVB lose at FC Augsburg on Sunday (5:30 p.m.), the champions would be certain on the penultimate day of the Bundesliga.
On the last day of the Bundesliga match, FC Bayern travel to 1. FC Köln, while BVB host Mainz 05.
