Johan Derksen shrugs his shoulders that Hans Kraay jr. has had ‘a lot of pain’ about the fact that he was so mercilessly dismissed by VI. “It will be a sausage.”
It has been known for some time that it is Johan Derksen who did not want Hans Kraay jr., Jan Boskamp and Wim Kieft to move to Today Inside. He was dumped at the end of 2021 after seventeen years of loyal VI service, because Johan wanted to make a fresh start with a program that is not always about football.
Kraay is in pain
It has been known since then that Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp did not agree with the discharge of those men, but is now brought up by Gijp in his podcast. “People from the beginning should always be cherished. That is the battle I had with Johan, serving Hans Kraay, Wim Kieft and Jan Boskamp.” he says in itreports Shownieuws.
He continues: “In itself it is not bad if you say goodbye to those people, but the way in which you must always realize that these are the guys you have done everything with. Hans is very sad about what happened. You can hear from everyone around him that this has hurt him a lot.”
‘Really so much pain’
It’s serious, says René. “It really hurt him so much. But it is of course quite something, if you have been sitting at that table for fourteen years and someone says at a certain point: you no longer have any input, your input is zero and actually zero and we should have said goodbye to you much earlier. Those are things you shouldn’t do, dude.”
Shownieuws thought these statements were spicy enough to park a reporter at the exit of Today Inside last night to get reactions. John against it program: “Well, that’s right. I did not want to continue with Kraay and Jan Boskamp, because I was tired of all that bullshit about football.”
“Then I’ll stop!”
René’s story is known and correct, says Johan. “I then said: ‘If you want to continue talking about football, put Wim Kieft or Hans Kraay in my place, then I’ll stop. I’m at an age when I can leave. I do want to do a current affairs show, which is what John de Mol wanted.’”
He continues: “But I also said: ‘Then we can’t analyze the war in Ukraine with four football players at the table, so then I want the three of us and other guests.’ I say: ‘Then there is no room for Hans and Jan.’”
‘Nothing wrong with that’
According to René, they will never agree on this. He says to the Shownieuws camera crew: “Hans was right there, there was nothing wrong with that.”
Wilfred Genee: “As far as I’m concerned, Hans should have just stayed with it. I think Hans was a very good force that we have always had at the table.”
René: “He was very affected by it. I understand that, because he was a boy from the very beginning, wasn’t he?”
What does Johan think about Hans’ pain? “I have no idea and it will be a sausage to me too.”
