Paulo Otávio is continuing his career in the Qatar Stars League after the announced departure from VfL Wolfsburg. The 28-year-old joins record champions Al-Sadd SC. The Brazilian left-back, who was third in the table last season and is still suffering from an ankle injury, signed a contract until 2026.

Paulo Otávio, who moved to the Autostadt from FC Ingolstadt in 2019, made 77 appearances for VfL Wolfsburg, in which he contributed one goal and eleven assists. “We were in an open and honest exchange with Paulo. In the talks we had, however, we didn’t get together,” VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer explained the separation.
