Successful Bloemendaal hockey generation wants to write history: "Love pressure"

The regular season is over in hockey. In the premier class, Bloemendaal finished second behind Kampong. The play-offs start tomorrow and in the semi-final of this dessert, the selection of trainer Rick Mathijssen will compete against Rotterdam. “I really like pressure. Then we are sharp and very good.”

With three European titles and two national national titles in a row, Bloemendaal’s trophy cabinet has been nicely supplemented in recent seasons. The architect of this success is Rick Mathijssen. The coach of the Musschen is in his third year with the reigning national champion. “The players have indicated that they want to become the best generation ever from Bloemendaal.” The hockey club at the foot of ‘t Kopje has been the leading club in national and international hockey for years and would like to follow up on this in these play-offs.

Too much point loss

Still, Bloemendaal has drawn seven times in the regular season and lost once. “If this had happened in my first season, I would have been worried. Now I know that the players are there when it needs to happen, so I go into the play-offs with a good feeling.”
