Valentino presents men’s fashion show in Milan

Valentino returns to Milan with a men’s fashion show.

For the first time in three years, Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli is deviating from the joint presentation of the men’s and women’s collections with “The Narratives Menswear Show”, which will be held at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale.

The decision comes at a time when the fashion house is increasingly recruiting male brand ambassadors into its ranks. F1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton led the way, followed by singer Suga from the pop group BTS.

The event takes place on the first day of Milan Fashion Week and is open to university students. With this, Valentino wants to promote the next generation of the fashion industry.

In an announcement published on Monday, the brand said that creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli will bring new meaning to menswear, while also taking inspiration from the past to steer the male wardrobe “in an increasingly contemporary direction”.

The designer, who has been at the helm of the brand since 2016, will particularly focus on highlighting the house’s formal wear.

With this step, Valentino wants to put the product category on a pedestal and underline its growing importance within the company. Valentino is currently managed by CEO Jacopo Venturini.
