The PP candidate for mayor of Barcelona, Daniel Sirerahas assured this Sunday that he will do “whatever it takes for the Cs vote returns to the PP, which is where it should have stayed”. He said it in statements to journalists before participating in the concentration organized by the unions Jusapol, Jupol and Jucil against the “abandonment” of the Government to the National Police and the Civil Guard.
He has considered that the electoral poll prepared by ‘La Vanguardia’ and published this Sunday “consolidates the fact that the PP can be decisive” in the configuration of the Barcelona City Council after the elections.

In addition to Sirera, the Cs candidate, Anna Grauand the Valents candidate, Eva Parera, have given their support this Sunday to the concentration organized by the police unions Jusapol, Jupol and Jucil, which began at 12 noon in the Sant Jaume square in Barcelona and ended around 12:40. Some 35 people have gathered against the “abandonment” of the Government to the Police and the Civil Guard and have reiterated their request to the Executive to declare Catalonia a Special Singularity Zone.
Sirera regretted that Barcelona has become a “crime hub“and that because of the ‘procés’ many police officers and civil guards of Catalonia have left, in his words. He has promised to act as an intermediary between the unions and the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóoso that the police “can see their work financially recognized and can carry out their function in Catalonia”.
Grau has pointed out that “It’s not being a face to defend security: security and freedom are an inseparable pairing”, and he recalled that from Cs they want to incorporate 1,500 more agents of the Guàrdia Urbana into the city. He has asked the parties to “do not presume to support the police when they are humiliated from behind, they are ignored, their budgets are haggled over and they are not even allowed to patrol the streets”.
