Legendary US basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski becomes advisor to the NBA. As the professional league announced, the 76-year-old is to advise the managers of the clubs on a number of topics relating to the game with his expertise.
“Even after retiring from coaching, my passion for the sport has never been greater. This role will allow me to stay connected to basketball at the highest level,” said Krzyzewski.
The coach, also known as “Coach K”, had led the US team to three Olympic gold medals and two world titles. However, he had always rejected a commitment as an NBA coach and remained a college coach. The former Duke University coach had won five college championships.
