The police take into account that there is a connection between the theft of a delivery van in Hoogeveen and two car fires around the same time. All these events took place in Hoogeveen last night.
The police first received a report of a car fire on Terpweg, near the ice rink, around 00:15 am. Fifteen minutes later, a delivery van on the Kleine Beer also turned out to be on fire. Later in the night, the police were also alerted to a theft of a delivery van and a women’s bicycle at De Kroon, also around midnight. It would be a delivery van that was later found burning at the Terpweg.
The police say via social media that they have already spoken with those involved, possible witnesses and local residents to find out what caused the vandalism and theft. It was also examined whether there are camera images that could lead to the perpetrators.
