Rutger Castricum finds it very strange that Ruud de Wild is now pretending that he actually did not want to make his flop soap on NPO 1 at all. “He just came up with it himself!”
There is quite a lot to do about the empty real life soap by Olcay Gulsen and Ruud de Wild. Critics find it ridiculous that the country’s largest TV channel NPO 1 has allocated airtime for this. What does Rutger Castricum think of it? He is the figurehead of PowNed, which broadcasts this soap series from the great new acquisition Ruud.
Rutger reveals
Ruud now shouts everywhere that he actually did not feel like that soap at all, but that is a lie, according to Rutger. Wilfred Genee asks him in the Inside today from yesterday: “How did it come about? Because that Ruud suddenly shouts that he didn’t feel like it, but we had the impression that he really likes this himself.
Rutger then says: “No, Ruud really wanted this. Ruud is very interesting for broadcasters and I think he is also a very good radio maker, DJ. He could no longer make or say things at KRO-NCRV because of the woke culture there. Well, we could. We also liked that he came to us. He did want that soap in the deal.”
“Brought it myself!”
Wilfred surprised: “He came up with that himself?”
Rutger: “Yes, he came up with that himself, yes. The deal was made that he would come to us and we actually got that soap for free, yes.”
Wilfred: “But he now indicates that he would rather not have had that.”
Rutger: “Well, I think he says – from what I have read – that he got tired of it along the way. I can imagine that if there are cameras all the time, but you said yes to that yourself, I think.”
Critical sounds
Johan Derksen: “I do have the impression that those two are very sensitive to critical noises.”
Rutger: “Yes, of course they don’t like that, no. Where it starts is: do you put a camera on it? I think so too… Especially when you’re recovering from cancer and you know things like this are going to happen… Why are you going to put a camera on that? What are you thinking? I get that… I mean…”
Wilfred: “The whole program is a form of overacting.”
Turkey trip
Rutger: “I have seen pieces of them going to the food bank. Then she goes there and then I think: yes, guys, come on… I think it’s great that you do volunteer work, I think a lot of people do that in our work, but why does it always have to be a camera on it?”
And then that ‘vain’ trip to the Turkish earthquake area has yet to come. Youp van ‘t Hek has strongly criticized this. Rutger: “I have the same feeling about that.”
Johan: “Don’t you think that everything shows that these two find themselves particularly interesting?”
Rutger: “Just by sitting with a camera on yourself, you already find that. I shouldn’t even think about it.”
