Bizarre: photo exhibition of models with dead animals

To make it completely dark, the expo takes place in a medieval crypt, near Kortrijk’s Grote Markt.

“The location fits perfectly with the images we made. The models with the dead animals. The atmosphere fits perfectly. Cool, but in a sense a warm atmosphere. So we want to present beautiful images, not lurid images in a warm context” , says art photographer Bart Moeyaert.

Animals in freezer

Beautiful, that’s for sure, but also a bit special. Photographers Bart and Patrick have been working for a year and a half on this photo exhibition in which they place dead animals with models.

“In the beginning, if we had a bird, we put it in the freezer. But our partners are not so happy about that, between the pizzas and ice cream. So we soon had our own freezer full of animals to support our project. can realize”, says Patrick Vanryckeghem.

“The animals, we actually want to give them one last tribute by portraying them again. In this project we emphasize that life is not finite and that is why the name MortAmour, death and love, the love for the animals prevails in our projects.”
