Pate Mustajärvi on TV, open about his jumping cycle: “Then we went to the loading dock”

Singer Pate Mustajärvi talks about his dramatic moment in the Suomi soi program.

Pate Mustajärvi is one of the new ones Finland is calling – about the stars of the program. In Friday’s episode, Mustajärvi, who has been a musician for over 40 years, openly talks about his downfall in the early 2000s.

– When the downward spiral started, you didn’t notice it yourself. Me, me and my band worked for ten years so that everyone in Finland knows who we are. Then what happened happened to me. That plunge… Then we went to the loading dock, the singer says.

Mustajärvi had a serious illness on the tour bus when the band was heading to the summer festival. The gig was canceled at the last minute and PMMP was asked to perform in their place.

– You left in an ambulance and we were asked to perform in your place. It was not an easy place. It wasn’t easy to perform for the festival crowd when you didn’t know how it would go, Mira Luoti, also known from the band PMMP, recalls in the program.

– You shouldn’t be ashamed of it. If it hadn’t happened, I would have died, says Mustajärvi.
