Willem II strengthened fourth place in the ranking of the Kitchen Champion Division on Saturday evening. In Tilburg, the team won 3-2 against De Graafschap after trailing 1-2. NAC Breda can also be satisfied: it eventually won against Roda JC with a lot of pain and effort: 4-2. The formation of trainer Peter Hyballa is now the number 5 in the position.
Both Willem II and NAC continue to have the prospect of participating in the playoffs for one place in the Eredivisie
Willem II – De Graafschap 3-2
There seemed to be no problem for Willem II for more than 50 minutes, who is trained by Reinier Robbemond, who was fired at De Graafschap more than a year ago. The home team was much better than the visitors from Doetinchem. The predominance resulted in only one goal, from club top scorer Elton Kabangu. In the 35th minute he knew what to do with a cross from Niels van Berkel.
The fact that De Graafschap could continue to believe in a success was mainly due to the tricolores. Within three minutes it was 1-2. First Philip Brittijn equalized (54.) and then Camiel Neghli turned the game upside down by helping the Achterhoekers to a lead. He did need the help of a Tilburg defender to put Kostas Lamprou on the wrong track.
In the 68th minute, Van Berkel brought justice (2-2) and Willem II suddenly got wings again. After a quick attack it was substitute Jeremy Bokila, who hit the target: 3-2. That was it, also because Lamprou and the post (twice even) stood in the way of 3-3. Furthermore, referee Martin van den Kerkhof disapproved of a hit by the guests in extra time. Thanks to the win, Willem II even has a chance of finishing third.
NAC Breda – Roda JC 4-2
Jort van der Sande had a large share in three of the four Breda goals. He provided the assists for the 1-0, 2-0 and 3-1. The goals came in the name of Elias Már Ómarsson (12.), Ezechiel Banzuzi (23.) and Victor Wernersson, who, much to his own surprise, also scored phenomenally in the 41st minute. Meanwhile, Niek Vossebelt (former player of Willem II) had already scored against for Roda JC.
After the break, NAC became increasingly anxious, although the opponent from Kerkrade did not create many opportunities. Nevertheless, it became 3-2 by Arjen van der Heide. After that, another difficult fifteen minutes started for the home club and trainer Peter Hyballa had to scream the lungs out of his body to keep his men on their toes.
The win was only secured in extra time. Substitute Sabir Agougil benefited from a slip by the Limburg keeper Rody de Boer. After a bad kick from the Roda keeper, the ball ended up at the feet of Agougil, who lashed out from about forty meters from the goal. For Roda JC, which is still being trained by Edwin de Graaf (ex-NAC), the season is actually over.
