tapas, the gastronomic festival that pays tribute to the Spanish custom of tapas, launches its second edition. The objective of the event is to position the Iberian country as a gastronomic tourist destination through the dissemination of the tapa culture. In this regard, there will be eighty restaurants in five cities in Argentina.
The action of the Ministry of Tourism of the Embassy of Spain in Buenos Aires It will include the City of Buenos Aires, La Plata, Rosario, Córdoba and Mendoza. In this edition, the event will raffle two tickets to Spain for those who answer a survey about their favorite tapas on the Tapeando website. In addition, those who participate in the tapas tours and consume in the participating restaurants have more chances of winning.
Between Friday 21 and Sunday 30 April, reversals of the famous Spanish tapas will be presented so that attendees can create their own tapas tours, visit bars, taste pinchos and montaditos, while enjoying a caña or vermouth. Some classic authentically Spanish restaurants will be present in the proposal, which spread Iberian gastronomy to the Buenos Aires public, such as The Lighthouse of Vigo, Hispano and Paxapoga.
For the area of Palermo there will be the participation of Bestial; Chub Rotisserie; The Eighth Bar; Paquito; Paxapoga; overo; and The Little Fisherman, among others. On the other hand, each participating restaurant in Tapeando proposed one of its tapas so that an expert jury could select the best one. Vicki Seville, Valencian chef creator of Arrels, a restaurant located in Sagunto awarded with one star MICHELIN, will preside over the jury in charge of choosing the winning tapa that can be tasted during the festival. The chosen restaurant will be awarded with two tickets to Spain.
A notable initiative for the interested party is to create a Tapas route own, for this the same festival offers an interactive map with all the information of the restaurants and proposals of all the cities. Another type of tapas experience are the walking tour generated together with Santander, sponsor of the event. With a maximum capacity of fifteen attendees, the group will tour a tapas route in the City of Buenos Aires together with a host who will share tourist information about Spain and its tapas liturgy, and everything about the restaurants visited.
