Collins’ visit to Helsinki may have something to do with the fact that he has recently been working on his passion linked to Finland. The actor has publicly confessed to being a Moomin fan, and he has made a podcast on the subject.

– I got to know the Moomin stories and their magical illustrations while growing up in the English countryside. You can learn a lot from Tove’s texts about equality, respect for nature and adventuring outside your comfort zone, Collins said in March in a news release related to the topic.

– I am excited to be able to share the Moomin stories with new children and adults who will be inspired by the lovable Moomin like myself, Collins continued in the announcement.

Collins revealed at the time that she had started her husband as well by Charlie McDowell with collecting the Moomin collection. McDowell will arrive in Finland this summer to direct Tove Jansson’s A film based on Kesäkirja.

Saunders said in the announcement that he noticed while recording the podcast that people all over the world love Moomins and especially Tove Jansson.

– Those not familiar with the stories might think Moomins are only for children – and they are wonderful children’s books, of course – but I discovered the books myself as an adult and fell in love with their philosophy and charm, Saunders stated in March.
