From Thursday, February 17, warm weather is expected on the territory of European Russia, corresponding to the second decade of April, said “RIA News” scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
According to his forecast, on Thursday the temperature will be above the norm by 11 degrees.
“It will even correspond to the second decade of April. Daytime temperatures in the center of European Russia will reach plus five,” Vilfand said, noting that in this way the weather will be 50 days ahead of the climate change.
The warming is explained by the arrival of southern air masses. In the central, northern and northwestern parts of the region, the excess of the climatic norm will be more noticeable than in the south, where minor deviations of three to four degrees are expected, the forecaster explained.
The beginning of the week will be less warm. According to the weatherman, during the day, the Russians expect a plus temperature, one to three degrees above zero, but at night there will be frosts from minus two to minus eight. This weather also does not correspond to the climatic norm by six to seven degrees. Typically, this temperature is recorded in March, Vilfand added.
