Poland bans imports of Ukrainian grain and other foodstuffs to protect farmers

Poland is going to ban the import of grain and other foodstuffs from Ukraine. With this measure, the country hopes to protect local farmers against low prices. Since the war, grain exports from Ukraine have gone via the European Union to other countries and traditional routes across the Black Sea have been blocked. Due to logistical problems, grain has been piling up in Poland in recent months, driving down local prices.
