Ice hockey, DEL: The Iserlohn Roosters beat the Augsburg Panthers after a penalty shootout and celebrate their fifth win in a row – ice hockey – sport

The DEL had agreed with the clubs that games can also take place during the Winter Games in Beijing if the clubs agree on a date.

0: 3 after 14 minutes

After 14 minutes against the Augsburg Panthers it didn’t look like the Iserlohner could continue their series. Two early hits by Matt Puempel (1st/4th) and another by Michael Clarke (14th) had brought the guests 3-0 in front. But Casey Baileys Goal eleven seconds before the final siren of the first third gave hope to the Roosters.

And indeed, the home side were behind Joe Whitneys Goal in the middle third (34th) on again. In the final section, things got dramatic. First succeeded Eric Cornel the 3:3 equalizer (43rd), but just under a minute and a half later they went through Brad McClures Hit the Panthers in front again. Sena Acolatse rewarded the unrestrained effort from Iserlohn with another equalizer (48′).

In the final phase they were Roosters on the trigger, which now tightly constricted the opponent in their own defence. But even in the two-minute overtime game after a time penalty for Augsburg, Iserlohn was no longer able to score. So it went with the 4:4 in the overtime.

And she had it all. Both teams had multiple opportunities to take the lead. Augsburg’s thwarted in the final seconds goalie Oliver Roy some good Roosters chances and saved his team in the penalty shootout.

Here, too, things went back and forth – the highly exciting and extremely spectacular game came to a dramatic end. It was ultimately Acolatse with his transformed penalty in front of 1,491 enthusiastic spectators for the much acclaimed home win of the Roosters worried.
