Bayern Munich could last exactly one half against Manchester City. The second half belonged to Pep Guardiola’s team. “It fits in with Bayern’s difficult season,” Mossou analyzes. “And if you replace a trainer opportunistically, it’s good to see that it doesn’t have an immediate effect at this level. But this game seems to be over now. Usually Guardiola only gets lost in the semi-finals with a strange substitution or line-up.”
The new technical director was presented at Ajax and Sven Mislintat made it clear that he wanted to continue with John Heitinga as trainer. “It came across as if this was an agreement that had been made in advance with the management. Mislintat cannot yet pass judgment on Heitinga. He hasn’t worked with him yet. Apparently they have full confidence in Heitinga and then you have to go for it. A defeat against PSV and a possible third place should not be an argument.”
