QWhen it comes to women at the top of companies, we always talk about a glass roof. A violent and claustrophobic image to emphasize the submission of the woman.

Yet there are women in Italian and international companies who bring visions and solutions with great simplicity and optimism. It happens more and more.

It comes to mind when thinking of a great woman who is no longer here: Katia Bassiwho left an important mark by leaving for ladies, inside and outside the world of work. His latest assignment required the ability and courage to look to the future and change the paradigm of culture and industry.

Only child, raised in the gray province of Lombardy in a simple family, later a career that began in Ferrari, continued in the NBA, Aston Martin and LamborghiniBassi – double degree in political science and law and a master’s degree from MIT in Boston in Digital marketing and Analytics – now he was in charge of the project to create the car of the future: the S9, designed by Walter De Silva. The electric one, manufactured in the heart of the Po valley for the Chinese market, one of the largest and richest in the world.

How had she done it? Katia hated the attitude with which the male world exhibits roles and power. On the contrary, what was striking about her were the grace and kindness of those who believe that the value of ethics and skills can make you free in work and in life.

Katia Bassi had studied law. Her dream was to take care of girls and boys. In her Instagram profile there is still her photograph of when she was little in a fairy dress, a little princess with wings.

At the head of a men’s market, he had the ambition to create luxury products for women in their thirties: not designer handbags, shoes, clothes or jewellery. Custom-built cars, racing cars, the Lamborghini Urus, the SUV intended for Arabs and Americans: cars for women who don’t need to be picked up by a horseman.
