Celtic win high-scoring Old Firm Derby against Glasgow Rangers

12 points ahead of Rangers

Celtic took a big step towards their 53rd Scottish Championship against arch-rivals Rangers FC in the Old Firm. In a high-scoring Glasgow city derby on Saturday afternoon, the home side triumphed 3-2 over the pursuers, who are now twelve points behind with seven games to play.

League top scorer Kyogo Furuhashi with a brace in the 26th and 62nd minute and Jota (73rd) put coach Ange Postecoglou’s team on the road to victory. Rangers captain James Tavernier equalized with a direct free kick (44′), but it took too long before the next goal was scored. The 31-year-old again headed the visitors in the 79th minute, but it wasn’t enough to equalize.
