Castillo was assassinated on December 19, 2021. He was returning from a party with his friends when there was a minor altercation with Ramiro Gutierrez, son of a heavyweight in the area who is linked to drug trafficking and the illegal purchase and sale of high-end vehicles. It is that at the same time that he defended the parents of Báez Sosa and pointed crudely against the rugbiers – “reverend sons of bitches”, he called them, a case on which he mounted for his Buenos Aires campaign -, in Neuquén he defended the bad guys from the movie.
