Six losses in a row
Guerino Capretti wanted to initiate a “positive trend reversal” at FC Ingolstadt 04, but after winning ten games and six defeats in a row, the 41-year-old has to retire after just two months. The third division team, which has slipped to 14th place, announced the separation from Capretti on Tuesday, the team will be looked after by the previous assistant Maniyel Nergiz on an interim basis. A successor will be presented shortly.
“Rino took over the team at the beginning of February and tried to turn things around under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, we didn’t succeed and we continued to lose ground,” said Managing Director Dietmar Beiersdorfer. “After the last six defeats and only four points from ten games, we are currently in a key moment in which we will do everything we can to get the curve out of the relegation vortex. Due to the sporting downturn, we have to act to score points as quickly as possible and get the team back on the road to success.”
FC Ingolstadt 04 released Guerino Capretti from his duties as head coach on Tuesday morning. After the sixth defeat in a row, those responsible felt compelled to release the 41-year-old with immediate effect.
