FC Bayern: Hoeneß criticizes Nagelsmann

The release of Julian Nagelsmann, which was “catastrophic” from FC Bayern’s point of view, has once again heated up the minds surrounding the top Bundesliga game against BVB (4: 2). Bayern Munich’s supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß has now intervened: According to the 71-year-old, Nagelsmann is also to blame for the circumstances.

“Julian Nagelsmann shouldn’t have gone on a skiing holiday after the defeat in Leverkusen,” said Uli Hoeneß one day after Nagelsmann’s successor Thomas Tuchel’s superior victory against Borussia Dortmund Put together and spoken to Monday or Tuesday. And who knows what would have happened then?”

According to Hoeneß, Nagelsmann should have worked with the players in Munich who were not nominated for international matches. Among others, leading player Thomas Müller and winger Leroy Sané were there. Jamal Musiala also returned to Säbener Straße early due to a thigh injury. The sporting trend would have spoken against a vacation, said the 71-year-old.

According to the honorary president, the Bayern bosses around CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic themselves did not know that Julian Nagelsmann had gone on a short vacation after the 2-1 loss to Leverkusen. “A head coach doesn’t have to ask about a vacation,” said Hoeneß.

A reason why the communication subsequently failed. According to their own account, the Bayern bosses initially tried in vain to reach Nagelsmann after he had to read the first rumors about his departure from FC Bayern from the press.

Hoeneß sees a problem for Matthäus: “Has to prove his statements”

In the dispute between Oliver Kahn and ex-professional Lothar Matthäus about the course of the Nagelsmann separation, Uli Hoeneß, unsurprisingly, took the side of his Bayern colleagues.

“I don’t see a problem for FC Bayern, but rather for Lothar Matthäus. He has to prove his statements,” said the Munich manager for many years. Matthäus had accused Kahn of having told the untruth in the presentation of the chronological sequence of the Nagelsmann separation.

According to “kicker”, Hoeneß assumes that Nagelsmann would still be coach of the record champions without Tuchel’s commitment.

The long-time club president and manager considers Nagelsmann’s successor “the ideal solution. His two press conferences were summa cum laude, a way of expression ready for printing. That’s Bayern Munich. He internalized this club in two days”.
