A day ago, RKC captain Michiel Kramer extended his contract with the Waalwijk club for another two years. On Saturday he showed against Vitesse how important the captain is for the club. He scored the only goal of the match in his own stadium, pushing RKC up to 8th place.
Kramer scored in the 27th minute after a cross from Mats Seuntjens. About five minutes later, Jozefzoon seemed to score the 2-0 goal, but the flag went up for offside.
In the second half, RKC continued with the same eleven names. Vitesse went looking for the equalizer, but a shot from Million Manhoef ended on the fists of Etienne Vaessen, who also performed excellently with a shot from Tronstad just before the break.
Eighth place
In the 87th minute, coach Joseph Oosting made three substitutions. Substitute Julen Lobete had the 2-0 on his shoe, but his shot was deflected. So 1-0 was the final score.
RKC Waalwijk has advanced to eighth place in the Eredivisie due to the victory over Vitesse.
