The government is establishing Ventilus’ preferred route today
Civic platforms and other stakeholders are waiting for that route to determine their position later, during a public inquiry.
Preferred route and the radiation standards
The preferred route and the radiation standards are on the agenda of the Flemish government. What has already leaked is this: an eight-kilometer strip in Zedelgem is going underground. And also a stretch of two kilometers in Izegem. Not the industrial zone, where the Skyline Park is located, but the piece of land on the other side of the Rijksweg, which spares the De Mol district. In addition, Ventilus will travel to Avelgem over existing high-voltage lines, which will have to process a greater capacity. The Flemish government also wants to set the maximum radiation standards today. Those who live within a radius of 100 meters from the Ventilustracé can also count on a reimbursement.
