A man died in an accident on a pilot boat off the coast of IJmuiden. The man is an employee of the Loodswezen. It is still unclear what exactly happened at sea, according to the police.
The emergency services were alerted around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday evening. The boat sailed to the locks at the Zuidersluisweg where ambulance staff and a trauma team were ready to provide assistance, but that was no longer possible.
The Maritime Police Team of the National Unit is currently investigating.
