Lemgo surprises the lions in the first half

After the first goal of the game from a touchdown by Juri Knorr, the Löwen quickly took a 3-1 lead, but Niels Versteijnen and Jan Brosch equalized for Lemgo (6th minute). After a Kempa trick between Tim Suton and Versteijnen (8th), TBV was 4:3 ahead. Frederik Simak (10th) gave the hosts a two-goal lead for the first time (6:4) with a goal into the empty Löwen goal.

In the 19th minute, TBV goalkeeper Finn Zecher, who had just come on, parried a 7-meter throw by Uwe Gensheimer, on the other side Gedeon Guardiola scored dryly to make it 11:8 for East Westphalia. A little later, Zecher (23rd) regained the upper hand in the 7-meter duel against Gensheimer, allowing Lemgo to pull away to 15:10 with three goals in a row.

The lions, the team with the most goals scored in the league, seemed unsettled after the last two defeats (seven technical mistakes in the first half) and failed again and again due to the strong Lemgo defense. After the TBV had taken a seven-goal lead in the meantime, the guests closed the gap again to 19:14 in the final phase of the first half.

Lemgo remains stable even after the break

The Lions got off to a better start in the second half and reduced the lead to 19:16 with goals from Niclas Kirkelokke and Lukas Nilsson. Lemgo hit back with Simak and Versteijnen (35′). Zecher continued to perform well, the TBV keeper brilliantly parried a throw from Patrick Groetzki at full speed (39th). Kirkelokke also found his master with a trick throw in Zecher (43rd), Lukas Zerbe then put the penalty to 27:20 for Lemgo (44th).

With the guests only a little went together in the offensive, Lemgo played as if from a single source. Simak (48th) even extended East Westphalia’s lead to eight goals (29:21). Although the lions stabilized a little and got closer again, the TBV victory was no longer in danger. The best TBV throwers were Zerbe and Versteijnen with six goals each.

Gummersbach just keeps the lead

against VfL Gummersbach Leipzig’s Sime Ivic and Matej Klima each received a time penalty in the early stages. In the first minutes there was unrest in the Leipzig game, which Gummersbach used to take a 6:3 lead (7th). Leipzig then came in better and turned the game around through Simic (12./8:7). But VfL stayed on, Tilen Kodrin (18th) turned the tide again in favor of VfL (12:11). It remained tight, after two quick goals, Leipzig took a 17:15 lead into the half-time break.

In the second half, too, neither team was able to gain a decisive advantage, and the lead changed regularly. But with the score at 24:24, Lukas Blohme, Jonas Stüber and Ole Pregler with three goals in a row put them in a three-goal lead (50th). After a save by Fabian Norsten, Stüber (52nd) extended the lead to four goals. VfL couldn’t take this lead anymore. The best Gummersbach pitchers were Blohme and Julian Köster with seven goals each.
