In the pouring rain tonight around 7.30 pm at the intersection of the Handelsweg with the Van Heuven Goedhartlaan in Amstelveen, a cyclist ended up under a car after a collision. A similar accident happened yesterday at the Sportlaan in Amstelveen.
The fire service then had to work hard to get the woman out from under the car. Today’s victim, a woman, was less trapped. However, a trauma team also arrived here and the woman was taken to hospital.

According to a reporter at the scene, it was “with great haste”. The condition of the woman is unknown. A spokesman for the police says that “she was still approachable.” The heavy rain made it more difficult for fire and ambulance personnel to do their job. A number of firefighters therefore decided to hold up a large tarpaulin to keep their colleagues and the victim dry.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident and have closed the road to traffic.
