FC Bayern: Lucas Hernández before extension – Eight contracts end in 2024

Advisor dampens expectations

After the extension with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33), FC Bayern has planning security in almost all positions beyond the summer. Only the contracts of winter newcomer Daley Blind (33) and loan player João Cancelo (28) expire at the end of the season, and further cooperation seems unlikely for both of them. Those responsible can already take a look at the eight working papers that end in 2024. Apparently, Lucas Hernández will start shortly.

The currently injured centre-back is a report from sky are said to be in positive talks with the club to continue working together in the long term. A final agreement is imminent and is financially satisfactory for both sides. A signature can therefore be expected soon.

Julian Nagelsmann’s coaching team has no doubts about the sporting quality of the Frenchman, the 35-year-old spoke out in favor of an early extension with his left foot even before the season started. Only the susceptibility to injury prevents Hernández from playing an even bigger role at Bayern. After tearing a muscle at the start of the season, the French international tore a cruciate ligament in the first group match against Australia (4-1) at the World Cup in Qatar and will miss the rest of the season.

Due to this downtime, Hernández’s advisors expressed reluctance to extend the contract. “There is nothing to report so far. The most important thing right now is that Lucas gets really healthy again,” said Manuel García Quilón “Sport1”. “Lucas is just happy to be back on the pitch. The injury was very bitter for him, so he’s all the happier now.”
