The Provincial Executive is making a subsidy of 40,000 euros available for so-called temporary works of art in connection with the European Cycling Championships that will take place in Drenthe from 20 to 24 September.
“We are now less than 200 days away from the start of the European Cycling Championships,” says deputy Henk Brink. This event also offers an opportunity to unite villages and people by carrying out joint projects. We want to encourage that with this subsidy.”
Live registration
During the European Cycling Championship, Drenthe will be seen by millions of people in Europe via live registration on television and online. With this attention, the event is a reason for many residents to organize activities. With the subsidy, the province wants to stimulate temporary artworks that promote Drenthe and/or present it positively along or in the vicinity of the route of the European Cycling Championship.
Meetings between people
The temporary works of art are made by residents of the province of Drenthe. Inventing, creating and presenting a joint (art) work creates encounters. The mutual connection is strengthened through the joint project. Residents, associations, foundations and companies can use this subsidy scheme on their own initiative.
Wide audience
From 1 April 2023, apply for the subsidy scheme for temporary artworks in connection with the European cycling championship. The subsidy amounts to a maximum of 2,500 euros per project for material costs for the realization of a temporary work of art. The artwork must be visible to a wide audience along the route in the period from 20 to 24 September.
