Winter weather in the south of the Netherlands, until 12:00 code orange in Limburg and North Brabant

Road users should take into account winter precipitation and slipperiness on Wednesday morning. In Limburg and North Brabant, the KNMI code orange issued due to heavy snowfall. More than five centimeters of snow can fall locally, rising to possibly ten centimeters in the Limburg hills. The weather warning will last until at least 12:00 p.m.

The rest of the country is also slippery on the road due to freezing of wet road sections. Code yellow applies to the remaining ten provinces until 09:00. According to the KNMI, the slipperiness will temporarily be over in the afternoon, but in the course of the evening it can become slippery again due to snow in the south and possibly in the center of the country.

At 07:15 there was a 120 kilometer traffic jam, according to the ANWB. For example, motorists in The Hague cannot enter the A12 due to an accident at Prins Clausplein. Train traffic will not be affected by the winter showers for the time being. In Limburg, the regional trains are not running, but that is because of a strike.
