Continuation of the 29-euro ticket, new construction of 20,000 apartments per year. Kai Wegner (50, CDU) and Franziska Giffey (44, SPD) have already agreed on the first course for a black-red government program in their three exploratory rounds. BZ knows the details:
► The 29-euro ticket for the city area (AB) is to be continued. Whether there can be a seamless connection in May is an open question.
► In Friedrichstrasse, work is being done together with residents on traffic solutions that do justice to a modern European metropolis.
► The public transport is to be expanded together with the federal government and the state of Brandenburg: S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines, as well as the tram.
► In the traffic turnaround, a balance is sought between the different needs of road users (cars, cyclists, pedestrians).
► The new construction target of an average of 20,000 apartments per year remains. Problem: Only 16,500 were made in 2022 and the conditions for builders (explosion in prices, rising interest rates) are getting even tougher.
► And what happens if the Expert Commission votes positively to implement the referendum “Expropriate Deutsche Wohnen”?
More apartments are to be purchased for the municipal companies in order to stabilize rents. And a social framework law is to be drawn up.
