With “Games with Gold” subscribers get free titles for the Xbox every month. These are the titles available in March.
Games with Gold is part of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. In addition to various other services, users also get a few selected games to download free of charge for a certain period of time every month. TECHBOOK checks what the March titles are good for.
These Xbox games are coming with Games with Gold in March
Unlike in January and February, Microsoft is again donating three games in March that Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download for free.
Trüberbrook
A German-made sci-fi adventure game set in a parallel universe in the 1960s. The role of the American scientist Hans Tannhauser takes you to the remote idyllic village of Trüberbrook. But instead of enjoying the peace, players must solve puzzles and save the world.
The game has received mostly positive reviews according to Metacritic, giving it a solid 76 point score for the Xbox version. There is a lot of praise for the meticulously designed graphic style, which looks like a “work of art”. The point-and-click mechanism creates a retro feeling – even if the puzzles are not too complicated. There is some criticism for the incoherent story, which also has a rather abrupt end.
Sudden Strike 4 – Complete Collection
Sudden Strike 4 is a real-time strategy (RTS) game set in World War II. Players command armies of the Allies, Soviets or Germans in eleven campaigns. In it, historical battles can be recreated – such as Operation Barbarossa, the Battle of the Bulge, the Battles of Dunkirk (Dunkirk) and Stalingrad and the Pacific War. More than one hundred units can be commanded in both single and multiplayer. In addition to the base game, the Complete Collection contains all five previously released DLCs.
Since the Complete Edition of Sudden Strike 4 does not yet have enough reviews for a Metacritic score, we are referring to the base game here. This received medium to positive reviews and achieved a rating of 73. The reviewers particularly dislike the often tricky controls – but this is a general problem with RTS games on consoles. What is positive, however, is the profound and historical depiction of the battles.
lamentation
A pixel graphics horror game set in mid 19th century New England. Young aristocrat Victor Hartwell must find a way to save his ailing wife. The last hope lies in the dark corridors and spooky catacombs of Grau Hill Manor. In search of a cure, Victor encounters mutated creatures and monsters that are not from this world.
Lamentum didn’t get enough reviews for the Xbox version, so we’re referring to the PC version here. This achieved a rating of 74 with mixed reviews. There is some criticism that the developers seem to have oriented themselves too much towards older Resident Evil and Silent Hill titles – which is why the puzzles and mechanics should sometimes seem familiar. Nevertheless, according to the reviewers, the game exudes a retro horror feeling and is therefore a must-have for fans of the genre.
That was February’s free Xbox games
There were two Xbox Games with Gold video games released in January – only one of which is still available. You can download Guts N Goals until March 15th.
Guts N Goals
Availability: February 16th to March 15th
There really isn’t much to say about Guts N Goals. One reviewer summed it up quite aptly: “A game that’s basically Rocket League where everyone’s out of their cars and brandishing baseball bats.” to beat up players. All stadiums have their own mechanics and mini-games provide even more distraction. Players can choose from 30 heroes with different abilities – but be careful: random mechanics can affect the course of the game at any time.
Released in 2021, the game doesn’t have enough reviews to earn a Metascore yet. However, on Steam users rate it “Positive” with an average of 8 out of 10 stars. The fun factor is praised, but the game mechanics are somewhat criticized. Because as simple as the underlying concept is, the gameplay sometimes seems so immature.

How to redeem the free Xbox games
If you want to download directly from the console, you will see a corresponding tile for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the Xbox home page. The games are then available for download in the corresponding period in the menu behind them.
Otherwise, the “Games with Gold” titles are also available online. The free Xbox games are then stored in the menu item of the same name. If you redeem them there using the button, you can download them directly when you log in with your Xbox. However, with both variants it is necessary to enter the credit card details, as with paid games. However, Microsoft will not issue an invoice for the game during the corresponding period.
