Assize trial deadly rip deal can resume

Sacha B. from Roeselare had agreed to sell someone cannabis. When he showed up with two others, he said he feared being robbed. During the brawl, the accused fired a shot. The victim, a young man from Menen, died on the spot.

During the trial, Master Platteau filed a challenge request. It is now decided to reject the challenge request. This means that there is no question of so-called partiality. The assize process can therefore simply be resumed.

Perhaps that will happen within a few weeks, after the trial of the double room murder.
