Worldwide “unique brand”
As the sports club with the most members worldwide, FC Bayern Munich has surpassed the 300,000 member mark. The German record champions announced this on Sunday on the sidelines of the top Bundesliga game against 1. FC Union Berlin, in which Bayern left the field after a 3-0 lead.
“300,000 members – that’s a unique brand worldwide that we at FC Bayern can be very proud of,” commented club president Herbert Hainer. “The FC Bayern family is growing, which makes us happy, because our members and fans are what we’re all about.” On Monday, the 32-time German champions will be celebrating their 123rd anniversary.
The #FC Bayern has broken the sound barrier of 300,000 members and thus further expanded its position as the sports club with the most members in the world.

With the Hamburger SV, a second division team with 90,000 is just below this mark, in the 3rd division Dynamo Dresden has the most members with 25,074 – in the Germany-wide ranking that is enough for 17th place.
