“Today, the EU has approved the tenth package of sanctions against Russia” to “help Ukraine win the war“, has announced the Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union on its official Twitter account. “Collectively, the EU Member States have imposed the stronger sanctions far-reaching and ever imposed to help Ukraine win the war,” he concluded.
Specific, 47 electronic components that Russia you can use in their weapons systems, such as drones, missiles and helicopters, in such a way that, taking into account the nine previous packages, all technological products found on the battlefield will have been prohibited, according to what the president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, by proposing them.
Also seven Iranian companies will be sanctioned linked to the Revolutionary Guard that make the drones that Tehran is giving to Moscow to bomb Ukraine.
The new measures include to a hundred Russian individuals and companies, among them members of the Army, those responsible for committing crimes in Ukraine and for deporting Ukrainian children to Russia.
To all of them they will freeze the goods and assets that they have that the EU and will be prohibited from entering community territory.
To prevent Russia from circumventing the above measures
The tenth package puts the focus once again on the need to prevent both Russia and the oligarchs from circumventing the sanctions and it has been agreed to study the possibility of using the assets of the Russian Central Bank frozen in the EU for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
However, various countries -among them Spain- have legal doubts about the possibility of using the funds for reconstruction and call for the maximum international consensus.

Beyond this tenth package against Russia, EU countries will start discussing early next week a new round of sanctions against Belarus for its support of the Kremlin in the war against Ukraine.
