The film Omerta made millions in losses, writes Suomen Kuvalehti.
The acclaimed Omerta film premiered in November 2021. Antti J. Jokinen was originally supposed to direct Omer, but he was moved aside during filming in 2020.
I became the director of Omerta in the middle of filming Aku the miner.
Jokinen was also the main owner and chairman of the board of Cinematic Productions Oy, founded for the production of the film.

The film made heavy losses. The company’s latest financial statement for 2021 is 1.89 million euros with a minus. The film had received support of 1.1 million euros from the Finnish Film Foundation and 850,000 euros from Business Finland.
Cinematic Productions was initially entirely owned by Cinematin Finances Oy. Its shares were owned by Jokinen. With the issue of shares, other shareholders joined, such as Jasper Pääkkösen’s company and chairman of HIFK’s board Timo Everi.
During 2022, Jokinen was released from all his duties in Omerta’s background company, when other shareholders bought his Finances shares.
– After the burn out, I have been left out of all business activities and I only focus on my own guidance, Jokinen commented to Suomen Kuvalehti.
Despite the loss, Cinematic Productions is not going bankrupt.
