On Sunday (February 19th) Depeche Mode played a short “secret concert” in Munich to build anticipation for their new album MEMENTO MORI (out March 30th).
Martin Gore and Dave Gahan played a 30-minute gig with their live musicians Christian Eigner (drums) and Peter Gordeno (keyboards) before answering questions from a moderator. Of course, it was all about the new songs.
The setlist for the Munich performance in the Alte Kongresshalle am Bavariapark contained five songs, including three new ones. Were played:
- 01. Ghosts Again
- 02. Wagging Tongze
- 03. My Favorite Stranger
- 04. Precious
- 05. Personal Jesus
Only 400 people could attend the mini-concert, but they were happy about a cheerful and concentrated band. Two small gamblers crept in, which of course did not go unnoticed.

Festive weeks for fans of Depeche Mode: On February 9th they released “Ghosts Again”, the first single from their new album MEMENTO MORI, which is due to be released on March 24th, 2023 – shortly before the start of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan’s world tour, the it will also lead to Germany. On top we have an extraordinary delicacy on offer.
With our April 2023 issue of MUSIKEXPRESS, which will be released on March 9, 2023, we are releasing a special collector’s item from one of the biggest bands in the world: an exclusive vinyl single by Depeche Mode with the single: “Ghosts Again“ from the new album MEMENTO MORI on the A-side. The B-side graces one Depeche Mode logo engraving.
The 7” single comes in a sturdy, carefully designed cardboard sleeve and on heavyweight vinyl.
It is only available with MUSIKEXPRESS and not in record stores.
