British auction house Bonham has announced the sale of Peter Green’s personal belongings. The objects include 150 guitars, various amplifiers and pedals as well as personal notes from the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist.
A highlight of the auction is the handwritten lyrics to the 1969 song “Man of the World”. The auctioneers hope that the paper will sell for between $48,000 and $72,000.
“This sale is a celebration of his love of the guitar, with a range of different makes and models, for enthusiasts and professionals alike,” said Bonhams director Katherine Schofield. “With estimates starting at £150 this is a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Peter Green’s legacy.”
The auction runs from June 16th to 28th on the auction house’s website. Not all objects for sale are known yet, a complete list will follow. Meanwhile, some of Green’s guitars are on display at the Guitar Show in Birmingham. Green reportedly died “peacefully in his sleep” in July 2020 at the age of 73.
