In our live blog you will find major and minor regional sports news during the weekend. Hints? Mail to[email protected].

In the Korfball League, Blauw-Wit LDODK failed to surprise again. Earlier this season, the team from Amsterdam won 29-21 in Gorredijk. This afternoon a victory was not really possible. Halfway through it was 8-13. In the second half, the guests ran out to 17-23. The relegation worries at Blauw-Wit remain and LDODK pushes Koog Zaandijk outside the top-4 thanks to the victory.

For Ajax it still came out well against RKC Waalwijk in the second half. The Amsterdammers book their fourth consecutive victory under trainer John Heitinga. The number two of the Bundesliga Union Berlin awaits in the Europa League on Thursday. It was a lost afternoon for FC Volendam early on. The damage suffered before the break against FC Twente was impossible to repair. Final score in Enschede: 3-0.

Mohammed Kudus puts an end to all uncertainty and scores the 3-1 against RKC Waalwijk.

On a pass from Bassey, Timber taps the ball past keeper Vaessen.

Substitute Brian Brobbey strikes after five minutes in the second half and makes it 1-1.

It is half time at Ajax – RKC 0-1 and FC Twente – FC Volendam 3-0.

Mats Seuntjens pushes the ball into the Ajax goal from about fourteen meters out of reach of keeper Rulli.

In no time FC Volendam is 3-0 behind in Enschede thanks to goals from Brenet, Cerny and Hilgers. Those goals were scored between the 16th and 20th minutes.

In the Arena, the match was preceded by a minute of silence for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The Spanbroeker Stijn Appel was the best on the beach of Scheveningen. In the final sprint he defeated Thijs Zonneveld and Rick van Breda from ‘t Zand with six leaders. Appel surprisingly won Egmond-Pier-Egmond last month.

Among the women, Mariëlle Trouwborst was the fastest in Scheveningen.

Good morning! Football-loving North Holland must be patient today. Only at 4.45 pm will the ball roll at FC Twente – FC Volendam and Ajax – RKC Waalwijk. You can follow both matches here in the live blog, but also in the sports broadcast on NH Radio. And Schoorl is flooded by runners for the Greeting from Schoorl Run. With the 30 kilometers and the half marathon at 11 a.m. At 2.30 pm the starting shot for the NK 10 kilometers will sound.

We are closing this live blog for today. Tomorrow we will continue with of course attention to Ajax – RKC Waalwijk and FC Twente – FC Volendam in the premier league. Both matches start at 4.45 p.m. and can be followed live in the NH Sport radio broadcast that will start at 4:30 pm begins!

The handball women of VOC from Amsterdam and Venlo are still leading in the premier league after tonight. VOC rolled up Kwiek with a big difference (42-24), while Venlo defeated VZV uit ‘t Veld 31-26. After seventeen games, VOC and the reigning national champion Venlo are both on 32 points. SEW continues to visit BFC third after the 43-23. Volendam lost 30-23 to Quintus.

Green Yellow has not managed to score any ‘bonus points’ in the Korfball League. The away match against number three DVO was lost with large numbers: 26-15. The team from Wormer remains penultimate. If Green Yellow is still there in six games, play-down games must be played to remain in the Korfbal League. Koog Zaandijk is in a much better position and tonight won 25-20 against KCC. Coach Tim Bakker’s team therefore (temporarily) joins the first four teams at the expense of LDODK. LDODK will be in action tomorrow. Then the away match against Blauw-Wit is on the program.

Just like AFC, Koninklijke HFC and Jong Volendam also played a draw in the second division this afternoon. Zakaria helped the team from Haarlem to a lead against Quick Boys before the break, but Hulleman’s own goal after the break made it 1-1. Jong Volendam, fighting against relegation, took a 2-0 lead in the home match against FC Lisse in the first half: Darius Johnson and Tayrell Wouter scored the goals for the Volendam U23 team. In the second company, Allon Koene (Lisse) and Waleed Aït Abdellah (Volendam) were sent off. Thanks to two goals from Jeffrey Klijbroek in the last eleven minutes, it still became 2-2.

In the second division, the gatekeeper OFC was unable to stunt against Katwijk. Despite Niels Butter giving the Zaankanters the lead, the game ended in a 1-3 loss. OFC therefore remains last.

In the draw for the quarterfinals of the national cup tournament for women, a North Holland derby came out of the tube. SEW from Nibbixwoud visits VOC Amsterdam, the leader of the premier league. Reigning national champion Venlo will compete against the second team of VOC.

Full draw:

  • Kwiek Raalte – V&L
  • VOC 1 – SEW
  • VOC 2 – Venlo
  • BFC – Quintus
