The UAE Tour, the first female WorldTour race history in the Emirates, is in the name of Elisa Longo Borghini. The 31-year-old Piedmontese queen of Paris-Roubaix won on the summit of Jabel Hafeet, the peak on which she has always dominated Pogacar, arriving on parade with her teammate Gaia Realini, a 21-year-old from Abruzzo.
Trek-Segafredo set the pace on the hardest climb in the United Arab Emirates with Realini, the new signing of the American team directed by Luca Guercilena. The Pescara, who has signed a three-year contract, pulled 8 of the 10 kilometers of the ascent and shattered the group: third on arrival is Silvia Persico, leader of Uae Adq at 1’10”, ninth Soraya Paladin (Canyon Sram) at 1 ’53”. Longo Borghini is the new leader of the UAE Tour with 7” on Realini and 1’18” on Persico: Sunday the conclusion in Abu Dhabi with the fourth stage.
