After three years at “Kleeblatt”
With a market value of 1.2 million euros, Timothy Tillman was one of the most valuable players in the SpVgg Greuther Fürth squad. However, the 24-year-old midfielder has not played a major sporting role under Alexander Zorniger in recent weeks. Tillman last played more than 45 minutes in mid-October. He has missed the last three games with a red card suspension. Now the departure of the former U19 national player is certain. Bayern Munich’s former homegrown player is moving to MLS champions Los Angeles FC.

#LAFC Signs midfielder Timothy Tillman to a contract through 2025 with an option for 2026.

“Los Angeles is a beautiful city, you can bear it there,” said Zorniger on Friday at the press conference before the game against Karlsruher SC (1: 2) about the fact that Tillman is not in the squad (quoted via Michael Fischer/”Further Flat Pass”). Previously, the US broadcaster “FOX“ reports that the native of Nuremberg is staying in the Californian metropolis to sign a contract with the LAFC. The ink on that is now dry with a term until the end of 2025 including the option for another season.

Tillman has roots in the USA, his brother Malik (20), currently on loan from FC Bayern to Glasgow Rangers, is even a US international. The working paper of the right footer at “Kleeblatt” would have expired in the summer after three and a half years. In 85 competitive games for Fürth, Tillman scored two goals and prepared eight.
After a strong development in the previous season, in which he was able to increase his market value to 1.8 million euros, Tillman stagnated after the descent of the franc. “He sees himself in league 1, but sometimes lacks all the basic virtues in league 2,” wrote TM user “gada10″ in his interim conclusion for Greuther Fürth at the end of December. “There has to be a lot more to come to the fore. With his lackluster performances in the first half of the season, he gambled away some sympathy among the Fürth fans. (…) I think Tillman just needs a change of scenery.” He’s getting it now..
