1. FC Kaiserslautern extended with substitute goalkeeper Avdo Spahic

With the club since 2019

Reserve goalkeeper Avdo Spahic has extended his contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern, which originally expired at the end of the season. The second division team announced this on Tuesday and, as usual, did not provide any information on the duration of the contract. There is only talk that the 25-year-old will stay with the Palatinate “in the future”.

Spahic switched from FC Energie Cottbus to the “Red Devils” in 2019 for a fee of 50,000 euros, where he has played 50 games since then – two of them in the current season when he replaced the suspended Andreas Luthe. “We are very pleased to continue working with Avdo. He fully identifies with our club and our values and wants to follow our constant path of further development. Avdo is an ambitious but also loyal player who can always be relied on and who has the urge to keep working on himself,” says managing director Thomas Hengen.

Spahic himself said: “It wasn’t a difficult decision for me. I’ve been here for four years now and I feel incredibly comfortable here. The club, the team, the fans, the whole environment, I just feel at home here. I’m happy that I can play for FCK longer and I hope that we can still achieve a lot.”
