Previously, the V-test provided a ranking of existing energy contracts that are being offered. As of today, users will also see their current energy contract in the list of results of the V-test. This allows consumers to see at a glance whether they can benefit from changing, the regulator says.
To be able to compare between new contracts and your current contract, you must first create an account on the website of the V test. You do this by clicking on ‘My V-test’ and then following the requested steps. Those who already have such a profile only need to log in with itsme or eID.
After that it is a matter of adding your contracts to the relevant address. You can do this by clicking on the little pin under ‘Purchase contract’ for electricity and gas. There you enter the date of concluding the contract, the supplier, the contract name and the end date of your contract. All this information can be found on the website of your energy supplier(s) or in the contract document that may have been sent to you by e-mail.
Once all the information is in your V-test profile, click on ‘Take the V-test’. From now on you will see your current contract in the results list. It immediately stands out, because it is in a green frame.
