Hansi Flick is hoping for more balance in the Bundesliga with Niklas Süle’s move to Borussia Dortmund. Flick is certain: the transfer will fuel competition in the league again.

National coach Hansi Flick sees the upcoming move from national soccer player Niklas Süle from FC Bayern to Borussia Dortmund as “a good sign”. He is “very happy for the Bundesliga and of course especially for Niklas,” said the 56-year-old to “Sport1”. “The quality he has is really good for the league. This change is also a good sign for the national team with a view to the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, because Niklas will stay in Germany and can continue to show his class here.”

Süle is leaving the German record champions on a free transfer this summer, the central defender and Bayern were unable to agree on a contract extension. BVB announced the move to Dortmund on Monday.

“Borussia Dortmund tried very hard for him. His move will be good for the Bundesliga because he’s fueling competition in the league again,” said Flick. Süle is one of the regular players in the national team.
