Second place is hard fought: Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Augsburg each won both of their matches on this goal-rich double match day in the FIFA 23 Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship.
The Frankfurt remain second, the Augsburg follow closely with a point behind. Leader of the table RB Leipzig watched from the sick bed during the week, but has a comfortable buffer of seven points.
In the north-west division, table leader Hansa Rostock offered his pursuers a chance to get closer. Henning “Henning” Wilmbusse and Levy Finn “Levyfinn” Rieck only managed to draw against VfL Bochum (1:2; 1:1; 5:3).
But the direct pursuer from Cologne also dropped points. Denis “Denis” Müller and Tim “TheStrxnger” Katnawatos also drew against Holstein Kiel (3:3; 2:1; 2;3). This means that the Rostock team remains at the top with a four-point lead. It remains tight on the other places in the table – Cologne and SV Werder Bremen are only separated by seven points.
The first two places go straight into the final tournament of the VBL CC, places three to six qualify for the playoffs. In the south-east division, too, the struggle for the qualification ranks is completely open.
