Alexander Everke is stepping down from his position as managing director of the company after seven years, as ams-OSRAM announced on Monday evening. A successor for Everke has already been found. It is Aldo Kamper who is returning to ams-OSRAM from the German automotive supplier LEONI.
According to the announcement, Kamper has been head of LEONI since 2018, but previously held various management positions at OSRAM for 15 years, most recently as head of the Opto Semiconductors business unit. As the new boss, he will continue and develop the company’s strategic direction.
Two years after the complete operational takeover of OSRAM, the integration of both companies into a joint group is well advanced. Everke is quoted in the statement as saying it is the time to hand over the leadership to new hands and to turn to other challenges. Actually, his contract was extended by another three years in spring 2021. The announcement does not explain why he is leaving the company earlier than planned.
In order to ensure a smooth handover, however, he will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity until the end of 2023. Details of the transition, which is expected to take place in the spring, are still being clarified, it said. The ams share temporarily fell 3.31 percent to CHF 8.58 on the SIX.
