Brother no longer believes that the actor is alive

Julian Sands is still missing. The actor went hiking on Mount Baldy in California two weeks ago and didn’t come back. Since then there has been a search for him.

His brother Nick Sands has now spoken publicly about the disappearance of the 65-year-old. “He has not yet been officially declared missing or presumed dead. But I know in my heart that he is dead,” he said in an interview. “But due to sibling rivalry, it would only be fair if he proved me wrong,” he added. In another interview, he also said that he had already said goodbye to his brother. He thinks of him resting peacefully – that’s better than imagining him in pain and alone. Despite everything, Sands’ wife and children try not to lose hope.

The experienced hiker ran up to 50 kilometers a day

Julien Sands has been missing since January 13. His car was found five days later, but so far there is no trace of the actor. The search for him had to be interrupted due to bad weather, but will continue if the weather conditions permit. He is an avid hiker and enjoys exploring the Mount Baldy range. He also climbed mountains like the Matterhorn and the Eiger. During his hikes he covered up to 50 kilometers a day.

After his disappearance became known, friends and acquaintances were concerned. Director Cassian Elwes, who worked with Sand on the film Oxford Blue, shared statements and updates on the quest. Actor Matthew Modine wrote: “#JulianSands is a wonderful man, husband, father and friend to so many people. A gentle, kind soul. Keep the candles burning for his safe return from the mountain he loves.”

Sands has appeared in various film productions, including “Room in View” and “Gothic”. His breakthrough came with 1990’s Arachnophobia.
