After AC Monza, Italian league rivals AC Florenz are apparently also thinking about signing Croatian international Josip Brekalo from VfL Wolfsburg. This was reported by the transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. From the point of view of “Fiorentina”, a free transfer in the summer is favoured.
The 33-time Croatian national player has long been considered a striker for the Lower Saxony. In the current season, the offensive power under Niko Kovac has only made seven (short) appearances in the Bundesliga, Brekalo’s contract in the Autostadt expires on June 30th. The 24-year-old left winger, who was loaned to FC Torino last season (9 goals in 33 games), was recently linked to FC Bologna, Dinamo Zagreb and FC Getafe (all rumors at a glance ). According to reports, the Spanish first division club is ready to make an offer and has contacted VfL to discuss the possibilities of a winter change.
Most recently, at the beginning of December 2022, it was said that the talks between Brekalo and Monza, which had been working on a transfer of the right foot for a long time, were about to be finalized.
