Jordan releases children’s shoes for beginner walkers

The Nike brand Jordan launches the “23/7” model, specially designed for children.

It’s an “entry-level shoe that helps kids feel independent and confident in their favorite activity,” the US sporting goods retailer said on Monday. This features a Velcro closure system and forefoot flexibility that offers comfort for beginner runners.

With its silhouette and different color variants, the shoe is based on models for adults and also sets the typical trademarks such as the “Jumpman” logo.

“Part of the reason we designed the 23/7 is because we wanted to create a shoe that would be an everyday part of a kid’s world,” said Tate Kuerbis, Jordan Brand Design Director for Kids Footwear. “Kids want to quickly slip into their shoes to get out and play – this shoe allows them to do just that.”

The first version of the 23/7 will be available worldwide from the middle of the month, further colorways are to follow. There is currently a model in the colors black, white and red in the German Nike online shop in sizes 27.5 to 35 for smaller children (64.99 euros) and for babies for 54.99 euros.

Nike Jordan was already active in the children’s fashion sector before this shoe. The brand produces clothing and shoes for older children as well as baby shoes. However, it is the first shoe that specifically focuses on the needs of smaller children who are taking their first steps.
